Welsh Hills Community Partners
Guiding a Thriving Granville
Welsh Hills Community Partners (WHCP) is Granville’s local economic development non-profit. We invest in infrastructure, support current and future businesses, and bring citizens, the Village, the School and our businesses to the same table.
You may know us as the Granville Area CIC. Same mission, stronger future.
Who we are
Established by our Village, our Chamber, and our School District
WHCP was founded in 2024 by three local institutions that share a stake in Granville’s future. Each one still has a role in our work today.
Village of Granville
To assist with economic development.
Granville Exempted Village Schools
To diversify our tax base.
Granville Area Chamber
To retain and enhance local businesses.
Our board is made up of active community members who care about Granville’s heritage and have a clear vision for its future, guided by input from local leaders and citizens alike.
What guides us
Our mission and vision
Our mission
To facilitate the beneficial development of our economy by investing in infrastructure, nurturing current and future businesses, and fostering partnerships to ensure continued prosperity.
The work we do, day to day.
Our vision
Guiding a thriving Granville.
Where that work is meant to lead.
What we do
Three ways we work for Granville
Business growth
Assisting local entrepreneurs and attracting future investment.
Community outreach
Sponsoring local gatherings and networking with Licking County.
Collaboration
Aligning the needs of citizens, businesses, and local jurisdictions.
Recent examples: we helped facilitate the purchase of the Buxton Inn and the retention of the local grocery store, now Lucky’s.
Who we serve
A partner for neighbors and for business owners
For residents & families
We aim to keep our community vibrant, welcoming, and resilient. From supporting local events to championing public space improvements and smart growth, we work to improve everyday quality of life.
Granville has kept its small-town, rural character through open space levies and a comprehensive plan that balances growth with preservation. We see our work as supporting that balance, and a stronger commercial base also helps ease how heavily Granville relies on residential taxes.
Want to help shape the future of the Village? Join us at our regular public meetings. Your input matters.
